    Blake,
Thank you for a look into your world. My son has ADHD. Sometimes it is hard for my wife and I to figure out what our son is going through. You gave us a little look through your eyes. We thank you for that.

    Thank you
    Joe

Blake Taylor’s memoir offers – for the first time – a young person’s account of what it is like to live and grow up with ADHD, a common condition that affects four million young people. He also talks about how he has found a way to thrive with the condition.

Blake Taylor is now studying to be a doctor. But when he was little, he was one of those kids who could never seem to settle down. This was back when Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) was just beginning to be recognized and diagnosed. Blake tells Dick Gordon that even on medication, day-to-day living was tough. But his condition also enriched his life in unexpected ways. Blake’s new book is ADHD & Me: What I Learned from Lighting Fires at the Dinner Table.

Blake’s mom, Nadine Taylor-Barnes, joins the discussion.
